Hours before his transfer, the National Penitentiary Institute (INPE) classified Yoshiyama, which is why he was transferred to Castro Castro from the jail of said institution.
The former Fujimorist is accused of the alleged crime of money laundering, for the presumed contributions of the Brazilian company Odebrecht for the campaigns of 2011 and 2016, where the leader of Fuerza Popular, Keiko Fujimori, who also remains imprisoned in a penitentiary, participated. by preventive detention.
While he was in the United States, in hiding, Jaime Yoshiyama said that businessman Juan Rassmuss Echecopar, who died in 2016, was in charge of receiving a millionaire contribution, and that he did not report the identity of the donor.
In the next few days, Yoshiyama will give his statement to the Office of the Prosecutor and it is possible that his lawyer, Humberto Abanto, may ask to vary the preventive detention measure by one of arraignment or house arrest.
