Peruvian national team occupies a new position in the latest FIFA ranking
The FIFA ranking returned after the restart of international football in Europe.
FIFA released the new FIFA ranking of teams, in which the Peruvian National Team lost position 21 and dropped to 22 a month after the start of the South American Qualifiers to Qatar 2022.
In this way, the Peruvian team led by Ricardo Gareca is surpassed in South America by Brazil (3), Uruguay (6), Argentina (9). Colombia (10) and Chile (17).
The Peruvian National Team will debut in the Qualifiers against Paraguay in Asunción and Brazil in Lima, on the first double day of the competition heading to the next World Cup.
On the other hand, Belgium ranks as the leader in the ranking after their last friendlies. France, Brazil and England are her main pursuers.
Belgium, first place
The Belgium team, which returned to activity this month with two victories against Denmark and Iceland in the Nations League, remains firmly at the top of the FIFA world rankings, ahead of France, Brazil and England, while Uruguay drops to sixth place after being overtaken by Portugal.
The return of international meetings in some of the confederations after the long hiatus due to the pandemic has not modified the leading quartet, but it has allowed the rise of two positions in the Portuguese team, which prevailed over Croatia and Sweden, thus now it is fifth ahead of Uruguay, which like the rest of the American teams did not play, and Spain.
Croatia, the world runner-up, for its part drops two positions and precedes Argentina, Colombia and Mexico, which maintain the ninth, tenth and eleventh places.
